Making Money With Internet Marketing - Where to Start

Making money with Internet marketing (IM) can be daunting at times, there are times when you just want to destroy your computer. There are also times when you are desperate and find sites that offer you quick moneymaking schemes overnight. Many of the websites out there to offer this are completely BS! All they are doing is stealing money from you. The truth is making money with Internet marketing takes time and dedication, if you do not have this do not continue reading.

Firstly what is internet marketing? It can be defined as marketing of products (digital and retail) and services over the Internet, it can also be referred to as online marketing or e-marketing. It can include various online activities such as promoting websites, blogs, articles, press releases, e-mail marketing, paperclip marketing, self-promotion and branding.

Secondly it is for people who have a passion to strive to be better than middle-class, it is for people who do not want to depend on their jobs as the only source of income. Making money with Internet marketing is not for people who want to get rich overnight, and is not for people who do not bother to put in time and dedication to see results. There are many ways that you can earn money online through IM, two ways are article marketing and pay-per-click.

So a lot of people wonder which technique to start with, this solely depends on you. If you don't have much money and that's okay, Internet marketing I believe it is only business that offers you the opportunity to make money without spending money legally. To do this the Internet marketing technique that you would pick would be article marketing, this is a type of advertising by writing short articles related to business' respective industry. Once the article has been written, the author makes these articles freely available for distribution and publication in the marketplace by posting them in article directories such as this one. I suggest for the new people who decide to make money with internet marketing, to pick this technique because your mistakes will not cost you anything.

Pay-per-click is an advertising model used on search engines, advertising networks, and content websites/blogs, where advertisers only pay when a user clicks on an ad to visit the advertiser' websites. I recommend using this technique after you have familiarized yourself with article marketing this technique can be quite costly if you do not have a strong foundation.

25 Clever Ways to Grow Your Email Marketing List

It's a sad fact, but your email marketing database degrades by about 25% every year. Your contacts' email addresses change as they move from one company to another, they opt-out of your email communication, or they abandon that old AOL address they only use to fill out forms on websites.

As a marketer, it's your job to make sure you're constantly adding fresh contacts to your email marketing campaigns so you can keep your numbers moving up and to the right. If you're not working on growing your email list already (or you've run out of creative ideas to do so), here are 25 simple ways to build up that email list.

25 Ways to Grow Your Email Marketing List

1) Create remarkable email content. Your content needs to be amazing if you want people to stay subscribed -- and if you want them to forward it to their friends, family, and colleagues that aren't already on your email list.

2) Create a new lead-gen offer -- like a free ebook or whitepaper -- and require visitors to provide their email address in order to download it. If you're having trouble coming up with new offers, this blog post provides suggestions for ways to simply and quickly create lead-gen content.

3) Host an online webinar and collect email addresses at registration.

4) Create a free, online tool or resource and have users sign up with their email address. For example, HubSpot has created plenty of free tools to use for prospect and lead generation -- most recently Marketing Grader.

5) Add a QR code to your print marketing collateral that people can scan to opt in to your email database.

6) Promote an online contest like a free giveaway, and have entrants sign up or submit with their email address.

7) Add an email signup call-to-action as a custom tab on your Facebook page. If you're not sure how, we've written a blog post on the subject! Then feature that tab in the Views and Apps section of your new Facebook page design.

8) Run a promotion on a partner or affiliate website to collect email addresses from a fresh source.

9) Collect email addresses at offline events like trade shows, and import them into your database. Be sure to send these contacts a welcome email that confirms their opt-in to your list.

10) Encourage your current email subscribers to share and forward your emails by including social sharing buttons and an "Email to a Friend" button so their networks, friends, and colleagues can sign up for your list. Include a "Subscribe" link at the bottom of your emails so those receiving the forwarded emails can easily opt-in, too.

11) Create a Google AdWords email capture ad (Note: This feature is still an AdWords experiment but is being implemented by a handful of companies), or simply leverage paid search ads to link to a landing page with and email sign-up.

12) Create multiple email subscriptions types that you use to send more targeted content to specific segments of your marketing personas. Your audience may not want to be in one, general campaign, but they prefer to be in a campaign that's targeted to their specific interests. If you create multiple, targeted subscription types, you'll increase the likelihood of visitors subscribing to one of them.

13) When creating content for guest blogging opportunities, include a call-to-action and link for readers to subscribe to your site's blog or email database in your author byline.

14) Promote one of your lead-gen offers on Twitter. Create a Twitter campaign to promote an offer like an ebook or a free resource to your followers that requires an email address to redeem.

15) Use your Facebook business page to promote an offer that requires an email address submission. In addition to creating a tab dedicated to email sign up, promote offers in your timeline and encourage your leads to share and like your offers on Facebook by adding a social sharing button on your landing pages and thank-you pages.

16) Target offers redeemable using an email address on your LinkedIn Company Page or in appropriate and relevant LinkedIn groups, or recommend an offer as the answer to someone's question in LinkedIn Answers.

17) Promote offers and email signup through your Google+ business page by making use of your Google+ updates and your Google+ about section.

18) Use Pinterest to promote offers that require email signup. HubSpot, for example, created a HubSpot Pinterest page, and by pinning the covers of our useful, information-rich, marketing ebooks, we've been able to generate new leads and grow our email list.

19) Leverage your company's YouTube channel. Add calls-to-action and URLs at the end of the videos you upload to encourage people to subscribe to your list, and include links to relevant landing pages in your videos' text descriptions.

20) Promote an ebook or relevant offer through an affiliate or partner email newsletter that targets a new but appropriate audience. This will give you access to a fresh subscriber base.

21) Encourage prospects in a traditional marketing campaign, like direct mail, to opt in to receive email communications instead. Include a URL to an online signup, and allow readers to opt out of direct mail. You'll even save some trees in the process!

22) Host your own offline, in-person events like meetups, conferences, hackathons, educational panels, etc., and collect registrations online using email addresses.

23) Link to offers that capture email signups throughout your website. Don't make people dig around your site to stumble across subscription options. Keep your offers up front, and include calls-to-action on just about every page of your website. Key places to consider are your website's homepage, the main page of your blog, your 'About Us' page, and your 'Contact Us' page.

24) Reinvigorate a stale email list with an opt-in campaign. Do you have an older list that you think is mostly decayed? Create an engaging opt-in message and send it to your old list encouraging contacts who wish to re-opt-in and promising to remove all contacts who don't respond.

25) Host a co-marketing webinar with a partner, and ask them to promote the registration to their audience.

These are all examples of things you can start doing today to increase your business' email database. Many of them are not complicated or difficult to implement. The key is to attack email list-building from as many angles as possible. As you grow your email list with fresh, opt-in contacts, you'll be able to nurture them with middle-of-the-funnel offers that allow you to convert early-stage leads into sales-ready leads.

Top 5 Traffic Generation Methods Used By Internet Marketing Experts

There is only one thing that matters for your internet marketing business, at least at the very beginning – generating a steady flow of website traffic. If no one goes to your site, it has zero chance of generating any income. Many internet marketing newbies have often missed this fact and went right into all the technical details of designing a site with all the whistles and bells but no sales!

Ever wonder how does big-hit sites drive massive traffic to themselves? Most of them are spending tons of money investing in many advertising campaigns and different forms of marketing schemes and gimmicks. This may well be worth the cause as they are what they are now – high-earning and big-hitting websites. But what happens if you do not have that kind of resources for your internet marketing business.

There are many ways to generate low cost website traffic without having to burn a huge hole in your pockets. Many people have banked on high cost methods and have ended up losing their shirt over it.
Here’s 5 top methods used by the shrewd internet marketing experts.

Swap Links
This is a sure and proven method. Rarely would you see a site where there is no link to another site. Many webmasters are willing to exchange links with one another so that they could produce more public awareness about their sites. You’ll soon see and feel the sudden upsurge of the traffic coming in from other sites.
A major pre-requisite in exchanging links with other sites is having the same niche or content as your partner site. There should be a common subject so that there is synergy in the provision of service and information to your target traffic.

Exchanging links also boosts your chances of getting a high ranking in search engine results. It is common knowledge that search engines rank high sites that have inbound and outbound theme-related links. With a good ranking position in the search engines, you will generate more traffic in your website without the usual costs.

Write and Submit Articles
There are many e-zines and online encyclopedias in the internet which provide free space for articles to be submitted. If you want to save costs, you can write the articles yourself. Otherwise there are many freelance writers whom you are outsource to for a small fee.

Write articles with themes specific to your chosen. And write something that you have expertise on so people will appreciate the value of your content. You are also helping yourself as the expert authority in that niche – branding which is what will set you apart from your competition. Include a resource box at the end of your article with a link back to your site. This is how article writing will help to generate traffic to your site. Instead of simply profiling yourself, try to give an incentive to visit your site like a free report or free trial.

Create a Newsletter
It may sound like hard work because of all the articles you need to create for this newsletter. That is if you have to create them yourself. There are many writers and sites that are willing to provide free articles as long as they can get their name mentioned somewhere in your newsletter, for obvious reasons. This is the reverse of article-writing.

As your newsletter gets circulated around, you raise public awareness of your business and build an opt-in list from the many people who will now visit your site.

Join Online Communities and Forums
This only requires your time and nothing else. You can share your knowledge and expertise with the many online communities and market your website succinctly. You can get free advertising when you go to forums that have the same subject or niche with your site – targeted traffic!

This is your chance to impress people about your knowledge in the topic of interest – people who are most inclined to purchase from you. As you build your reputation, you are also building trust and rapport and are on your way to widespread word-of-mouth something such communities and forums are known for.

Joint Ventures
This last method will be slightly more advanced as you need to have already established a certain stature in your business or built up a list of a certain size before any one would do a joint venture with you.
What it entails is you talking to potential partners out there serving the same niche market but with complementary products and services to do an email broadcast for you to their mailing list. And have you do the same for them.

Overnight you could literally explode your sales if you are able to convince a good internet marketing partner to come into a joint venture with you, especially one with a quality (and not just quantity) base.

Fast List Building Strategies

There is no doubt that email marketing has become one of the best and fastest ways to make money online. There is nothing more exciting than checking your email to find that you have made a sale or several sales.                                                                                        But before you can experience the thrill of getting money in your inbox, you have to build a mailing list. Some may tell you that building huge list of people all jumping at the chance to buy your products is easy!
Unfortunately, when it comes to building a responsive mailing list with thousands of subscribers, things aren’t always that simple. However, there a several list building strategies that work successfully and I am going to share some of them with you in this article.

But first, I want you to keep in mind that a responsive mailing list is your ideal target market, people that are asking you to send them information and offers by email. Many internet marketers make virtually all of their income just by sending email’s to their lists. Imagine how great it must feel to send out an email and in an hour or two have your inbox full of orders. It is very possible, especially when you take the time to employ basic and effective list building strategies.

When it comes to building your own list the first thing you should do if you want people to give you their email address is to make it very easy for them. If you have a website or blog add a subscription form to all of the main pages. Make it highly visible and offer your visitors something of real value in exchange for joining your list.

If you don’t have a website or blog you may want to consider setting one up just for your list building campaign, especially if you want to build a big list.

Above all else keep it simple! Keep in mind that people are busy and easily sidetracked, which means you don’t want to make them giving you their email address something that they have to think too much about or work too hard to do. The general rule is, the easier you make it the more email addresses you will collect!

If you have an existing customer base make it a top priority to get an email address from everyone that makes a purchase from you. Whether it’s during the sales process or after the purchase of one of your products make sure that you ask your customers for their email address. The optimum time to do this is before the purchase is completed because they will think it is part of the process.

It is very important to always remember that your customer must give you permission to send them promotional emails. Asking them for an email address as part of the sales process does not give you permission to add them to any other mailing list or bombard them with promotional emails. That can lead to spam complaints and you don’t want that. What it does do is give you the opportunity to follow up with them, ask how they liked the product or service and then entice them to join your regular mailing list.

There are many ways that you can entice people to join your mailing list.

Here are a few quick ideas that you can use;
  • Give them a bonus product, free gift or a discount on their next purchase when they subscribe.
  • Send them to a webpage where they can download a free eBook, report or software related to the product they purchased.
  • Offer them free access to member’s only website where they can get access to additional information, customer perks and special offers.
  • Give them a chance to win a prize, by holding a free contest or sweepstakes for subscribers only
  • Offer them free customer support and email consulting.
  • Have them fill out a survey and give them a free gift as an incentive to complete the form.
There are many ways that you can entice people to join your mailing list and by focusing on these core strategies you will be well on your way to building a responsive list for your business.

The simple fact is that email marketing is essential for any business. Once you have a list, and begin building a relationship with your subscribers they will have more confidence in you and your business. Just make sure that you provide them with information that they will find helpful and beneficial.
